Les the reluctant patient

Les is at home recovering and is already the impatient reluctant patient. The weather is starting to turn nice and he still has 5 weeks that he cannot lift anything 10 pounds or more. He had his catheter removed this week and that is a huge relief. It was very fortunate that Les chose the surgical route over the other treatments as the cancer was very aggressive. So for the fellas out there please get your PSA's checked. This is how we found out that there was a problem.

Les and I have a two new grandsons with one on the way. Lisa and Quinn welcomed their third child, a son, Collin James Mulvany and Rob and Tia welcomed their first child, a son, Logan Michael Switzer. We are still anxiously awaiting the arrival of Tracy & Bonnie's son in April of this year.

The picture to the right is a photo that Kathy's brother Clifford, he took this in 1971 floating down the Owyhee River. Kathy entered it in a photo contest with the BLM and this photo took first place. Just wanted to share it with you also.

Les and I also added a new puppy and a new kitten to our home this winter. The kitten is a Siamese the Les found at the airport. He called out to here Pearl is that you! The name stuck and she is a great cat. The puppy was from Kathy's brother's registered Golden Retriever. She was born at 3:16 in the morning so she was named initially John 3:16. Since she has joined our home we have added to her name; she is Sarah John 3:16. Sarah for Sarah Palin who Les and Kathy think is awesome.

Les and I took out our Home Phone so Here are our Cell Phone Numbers : Les 541-216-0670

Great idea her Kelsi !!

Jessica Bertalotto Ties The Record

Yes, it is official. For years, Jessie has been looking for ways to match her dad's record of four broken arms. With three already in the bag and she getting on in years, it didn't look like she would be successful.

Recently, she had the honor of tying the record by breaking her thumb in basketball practice. I actually didn't see it but I heard it was looking West instead of North. (Think about it--never eat soggy waffles) Ouch!

To make matters worse, it occurred on the growth plate. Fortunately, we were able to get into one of the best hand surgeons in town to deal with this. She had a fun ride, some gas, and came back to recovery with a pin resembling a paper clip. Man, is she grumpy when she wakes up from surgery. (Must have gotten that from her Grandpa.....) She is happy tonight though now that the pin is gone (imagine a paper clip with a curly in it that they just cut and pull out when finished) along with her cast.

At first, I took the position that a thumb doesn't officially equal an arm, but I'm giving into this one hoping that a tie will suffice and she will stop this for now, at least while she is on my payroll...

I would have added a picture but the kids are out and about and we all know that we need them to do anything technical.

Great idea on the blog. I'll try to be a communicator here especially since we don't get to see you all very much.

Hope everyone is well!!!
